FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What temperature will the water be heated to?

This depends on several factors, including the incoming water temperature, the outgoing flow rate, and whether the system is recirculating water back to the tank when the pole/brush is not in use.

Based on an average incoming water temperature of 10°C and an approximate flow rate of 2 LPM, you can typically expect around 50°C at the brush head, which is more than enough to experience the benefits of hot water window cleaning.

Do I need another battery to power a diesel water heater?

Diesel water heating systems can draw a significant amount of power during operation, particularly during the start up sequence.

If your vehicle is fitted with a split charge relay or DC to DC leisure battery charger, and you regularly drive long enough distances to sufficiently recharge your leisure battery, an auxiliary battery may not be essential.

Although a secondary battery is not strictly required, it is strongly recommended. If you choose to install an additional or alternative battery, we recommend using a lithium battery. Lithium batteries provide a far more consistent 12V output, helping to prevent common water pump controllers such as the V16 or V11 from cutting out or malfunctioning when the diesel heater places a heavy load on the leisure battery.

How much fuel does a diesel water heater use?

On average, a 5kw system consumes approximately 2.5 to 3 litres of diesel over a seven hour workday. Whereas a 10kw system consumables approximately 7 litres of diesel over the same period of time.

Can you install this system into my work vehicle?

Yes, we can. Install options are listed in the dropdown menu on the product page.

Is there a warranty or guarantee on this system?

Yes, there is. We provide free technical support via phone or video call, and all system parts are covered for 12 months against faults or manufacturing defects.

Is there a lead time for diesel water heaters?

Yes, there is. At the moment, due to huge demand, the lead time on diesel water heaters is 10-14 working days from date of order.

Why warm water changes everything

Breaks down grime faster

Warm water at 40 to 50°C breaks down grease, oils and traffic film far more effectively than cold water, reducing the effort needed to achieve a clean result.

Reduces streaks and watermarks

Warm water evaporates more quickly, helping reduce the chance of streaks and watermarks being left on the glass.

Boosts detergent performance

Warm water activates and distributes detergent more effectively, enhancing its cleaning properties on difficult first cleans and maintenance work.

Saves time across the round

Improved soil breakdown and faster drying means windows can be cleaned more efficiently, saving valuable time across a full working day.

Improves hose handling

Warm water softens the hose, making it significantly more flexible and easier to handle, especially in cold weather when hoses can become stiff.

Less effort, better results

Hot water helps you work faster, tackle stubborn dirt more confidently, and reduce the physical effort needed on demanding cleans.

Engineered for durability

The ThermaFlow 1.0 is housed in a custom built stainless steel enclosure, precision laser cut, folded and fully welded for maximum strength and longevity. It is designed to withstand daily use in demanding environments while maintaining a clean, professional finish.

Performance you can rely on

At the heart of the system is a brand new 5kW diesel heater, paired with a 25kW brazed heat exchanger. This setup ensures efficient heat transfer and stable output, even under continuous use.

Capable of heating water up to 50°C, the system provides the ideal temperature for cutting through dirt, grease and organic build up with ease.

Smart system design

Each outlet is fitted with a pressure relief valve, allowing automatic water recirculation when flow is stopped. This protects the system, stabilises temperature and keeps everything running smoothly during intermittent use with univalves or trigger valves.

The system includes a 12L coolant reservoir to support stable thermal performance, along with a 10L external fuel tank for extended run times without constant refuelling.

All connections are standard 1/2" BSP male brass fittings, making installation straightforward and fully compatible with common window cleaning setups.

Important notes

Power requirements: Diesel water heaters draw significant 12V power. We strongly recommend a dedicated secondary battery, ideally a high capacity lithium unit, to run this system reliably.

Noise: Diesel water heaters produce considerable noise as a natural result of the combustion process. Mufflers can be fitted to reduce this, although they will not eliminate it entirely.

Recommended flow rate: For best cleaning performance, we recommend keeping the total flow rate to no more than 2.5 litres per minute. Exceeding this will result in cooler water reaching the brush.

Installation: Professional installation includes securing the system into the vehicle, plumbing of the water inlet and outlet, and fitting of the exhaust and air intake. It does not include connection of the fuel line into the vehicle’s existing fuel system. An external fuel tank is recommended and supplied with the system.
